The NAS Header (NetStor WSS R2):
Contained within the NAS header core:
-
Easy-to-use yet powerful Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
-
High performance journaling file system scalable to 128TB of capacity
-
Windows, Unix/Linux and Mac file sharing
-
Snapshot file system to restore any file, folder, or complete volume to any previous point in time with the click of a button
-
Disaster Recovery software included to restore the system to original state
It all starts with the NetStor WSS R2 NAS "Header". The core of the solution is contained here, controlling all data in and out of the server and housing the operating system. There are two base models to choose from and find the best match for your needs. Dual GigE (100/1000Mb) Ethernet interfaces are standard, and there are enough options to satisfy your every want.
Storage Arrays Options:
All of Excel Meridian's SecurStor RAID storage arrays have been certified to work with the NetStor WSS R2 NAS header, and the sky's the limit. Capacity is scalable to 128TB per NAS and you can choose any of our SecurStor RAID array types to best meet your specific application needs.
Additional storage connectivity options include Serial ATA-300, Ultra320 SCSI, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS),and 4Gb Fibre Channel-based RAID Arrays. You can even connect to an existing SAN for the ultimate in storage virtualization (Block-level to File-level conversion).
System performance, throughput benchmarks:
The diagrams below shows the benchmark configuration and results of our NetStor WSS R2 featuring Intel Xeon Quad Core's. As you can see, the NetStor WSS R2 server is a stellar performer.
